Precision & Performance: Advanced Sport Horse Coaching At Stone Hill Sport Horse, our Advanced Horsemanship program is crafted for the serious equestrian—the rider who is looking to bridge the gap between technical proficiency and true athletic performance. This curriculum moves beyond the mechanics of riding and into the realm of training, strategy, and high-level horsemanship. The Advanced Approach In these sessions, the focus shifts to the rider’s role as an athlete and a trainer. Whether you are campaigning an OTTB, preparing for your next combined training event or hunter/jumper show, our coaching is designed to come along side you and your horse and focus on your long-term development. Elevated Horsemanship & Management Performance Maintenance: Address pre- and post-ride therapy, understanding therapeutic maintenance, and recognizing subtle changes in performance or comfort. The "Training Mindset": Learning to evaluate a horse’s strength and weaknesses, allowing you to adapt your schooling plan to meet the horse where they are each day. Tack & Biomechanics: Advanced analysis of equipment fitting and its direct impact on a horse's range of motion, muscle engagement, and willingness to work. Advanced Mounted Performance Refinement of the Aids: Transitioning to "invisible" aids; learning to influence the horse’s frame, impulsion, and rhythm through minimal, highly coordinated movements of the seat, leg, and hand. Developing the Horse’s Carriage: Focusing on engagement of the hindquarters, developing connection and adjustability. Technical Coursework & Problem Solving: Navigating technical lines, managing stride adjustability, and improving your eye for distance under pressure. Sport Psychology: Developing the focus, discipline, and strategic thinking required to perform at your peak during high-stakes competition.
